There probably aren’t that many out there that would say that the R8 is sedate, not with a screaming V10 inches behind your head, but ABT reckons it can make the Audi even wilder. And, it has.

Its latest package for the supercar gives the exterior a far more aggressive look but this isn’t just a visual upgrade, the tuner has also fettled with the chassis and the engine.

Starting with the exterior, ABT has added a full body kit; there’s a new front skirt and front lip with blades which gives the R8 a much wilder front end, while the new wheel arch vents give it a racier look. Adding further aerodynamic improvements are the front, side, and rear blades, as well as the rear lip spoiler and a massive diffuser. Finishing off the exterior are a choice of two different wheel types; a new set of 19in ER-F forged allows finished in a “Black Magic” colour scheme and the other a set of 20in GR forged wheels in Anodized Black.

Under the skin, the R8 gets coilover springs with sport stabilizers at front and back. ABT also adds a new stainless-steel exhaust system with better airflow that is said to add 20 horses and making for a total of 630 ponies from the all-natural 5.2-litre V10. And when you throw in the fact that the tuner managed to shed 50kg from the overall weight of the car, this one should feel extra potent. The regular V10 can hit 100kph from rest in 3.2 seconds. This one should be able to do it a touch quicker although no performance numbers have been revealed yet.

Like what you see? You’ll be able to get a closer look when the supercar is revealed at the 2017 Geneva motor show which starts this week.
