We have to admit, we like Schmidt’s take on the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupé, why? Er, because it’s been given a serious hike in power — but the newfound urgency isn’t all that it has going for it.

The M4 killer’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 has been poked and prodded by the German tuner taking output from 469 to 572 horsepower. Torque has gone up too (it gets an extra 80Nm of torque for a total of 730Nm) while the limiter has been removed so that it can hit a new top speed of more than 290kph.

Schmidt offers a choice of either KW springs or coilovers and a set of 20in FS-Line alloys which utilise Radinox — a very strong and ultra-lightweight stainless steel. It also gets a Capristo exhaust system. Nice.
