Not everyone is blessed with bags of money (especially us!) but we all want the finer things in life too. Is there a way around that? Yes - Brabus is offering a full line of parts for the whole E-Class estate lineup - and that includes power upgrades for the base E200 model.
Brabus, who first introduced the tuning programme for the new E-Class saloon back in January, can take the 181 horsepower output of the base model wagon to a far healthier 221 horses and it can give it a far meaner look too. The front end features large intakes which help to reduce front axle lift at high speed while around the back it gets a small diffuser with cutouts for the firm’s updated exhausts (a pair of circular tips). Speaking of exhausts, Brabus has a specific system for the E43 (which can be tuned to make a whopping 444 horses) with a sound-changing flap that drivers can control from the steering. For those looking for more style they can opt for new wheel designs which range in size from 18in to 21in in diameter. And what looks best with massive wheels? Yes, a lowered suspension and the tuner offers options for this too. You can drop the ride height by as much as 30mm or alternatively, it offers performance tunes for the wagon with Mercedes’ air suspension. As for the cabin, upgrades include stainless scuff plates with the blacklit Brabus logo, aluminium pedals and an all-leather interior with Alcantara options.
So, the levels of customization available for the E-Class range is rather extensive and even if you’ve only got the base model you can improve its looks and performance no end.
