Jag isn’t going to make a bonkers SVR variant which is a shame, but, that hasn’t stopped others from trying to extract more performance from the saloon, such as the German tuner.

The Jaguar specialist from Krefeld has worked its magic on the XE S and created the Arden AJ 24 RS by poking and prodding the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 to get more power out of it and it’s worked. The stock motor has 380 horses and 450Nm of torque but now it makes 463 and 583 respectively. That’s right — what we have here is a BMW M3 rival that Jaguar will never build...

Aside from tinkering with the oily bits, Arden has customized the body too adding a dual-vented bonnet, large rear wing, sporty diffuser and 20in wheels — the front and rear wheel arches were enlarged to fit wider tyres.

The interior has also been dressed up with embroidered floor mats, fancy leather upholstery and stylish aluminium pedals and footrest that should guarantee plenty of racing flair.
