Welcome to My Wheels, Zaid. Before we talk about your beautiful Phantom, tell us how your passion for motoring began?

Thanks for featuring me in wheels, I love the magazine and never miss an issue!

My passion started when I was just 4 years old — I was collecting car models of all kinds as a youngster and I was dreaming of owning such cars when I grew up. Fortunately, I have been able to realise those dreams!

Tell us about some of the cars you have owned…

My first car was a gift from my dad for being accepted to University. It was a 2003 Boxster. The car was in good condition but needed some repairing such as the interior and so being a fan of red and black I had the cabin trimmed in these colours — with a lot of carbon fibre — and this totally transformed my car. When I showed it to my family and friends, they were amazed by the new interior.

Since the Porsche, I have owned a 2012 Lamborghini Gallardo Performante. It was a masterpiece and the speed was phenomenal.

The other car I owned was a 2014 Ferrari 458 Spyder. I was a huge fan of the F430 but overall the 458 was better.

Now, aside from my Phantom, I have a Maserati MC Stradale.

You sure like fast cars but your Rolls-Royce, which is the most luxurious car on the planet and like a hotel on wheels, is totally different to the Italian supercars you mention. What in particular attracted you to it?

As you mentioned — the car is a hotel on wheels! The interior looks and feels as if it is from another world. Rolls-Royce put a lot of work in it to make you feel like you own the world when you sit inside. Nothing else makes you feel as special as this car does nor does anything else out there have a sense of occasion like this car.

I was always keen to see what the fascination with the Phantom was as people always compliment it so I went to the agency and asked for a test drive. It was a mind blowing experience. It provides everything you want from luxury, power and comfort. I would rate it 11 out of 10!

Does it ever prove a tad challenging to drive due to its sheer size?

Sometimes you do face difficulties such as when performing U-turns due to its size but otherwise driving it is easy and the ride is ever so smooth.

It is fun to drive too. Some cars cannot be driven on long distance trips as they become rather tiresome but in the RR you can literally drive all day! You can take this car for very long drives and you will not feel tired at all.

It has heated, cooling and massaging seats (which recline all the way and double up as a bed!), AUX to play your fav music and a terrific Sat-Nav system.

I would say that the Phantom is perfection.

Do you drive it just for special occasions?

Nope — this is my daily driver, I use it to go everywhere, so I guess every day is a special occasion!

It has plenty of power when I need it thanks to the massive, naturally aspirated V12 that makes 454 horses and is ever so smooth and quiet. I must say that I am very proud to own this car; I have worked very hard to attain such a classy car and don’t think there is anything out there that can match a Phantom for sophistication.

You’ve got — and have had — many people’s dream cars! But, what would be the epitome of motoring for you?

My dream car is the 2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition.
