If you were under the impression that family haulers all looked the same, i.e. bland, well GMC Middle East is about to try and change that notion. It is bringing the 2017 Terrain Nightfall Edition, which it revealed back in March, to the Middle East. What is that we hear you cry? It is a blacked-out, stylized variant of the popular crossover. And it looks oh so menacing. Bland this is not.
You’ll sure be standing out from the crowd in this one which also packs popular technologies such as IntelliLink. But, it is the exterior that will have most people gawking and rightly so. The edgy appearance is heightened by a set of 18in machine-faced aluminium wheels and gloss black spokes, not to mention the charcoal grille with a gloss black surround and accents, gloss black front and rear fascia accents, gloss black rear license plate surround trim, and side-view mirrors finished in? Yep, gloss black. Incidentally, the luggage rails are painted just your average black. Boo! The Terrain Nightfall Edition, which will be offered on SLE-2 and SLT models, will come with four exterior colour options: Summit White, Onyx Black, Graphite Gray Metallic and Crimson Red Metallic.
The crossover, which can accommodate five adults and has 1,810 litres of room when you drop the rear seats, also features a 7.0in touchscreen and a rear-view camera but can be optioned-up to include Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Rear Park Assist. The Denali trim packs a direct-injected 3.6-litre V6 that makes a best-in-class 292 horsepower and 369Nm of torque.
It’ll be in showrooms from this September and priced around Dh95,000.
