We know too well what a rejection letter for a prospective job can look like as we have had our fair share of them over the years. However, although this one isn’t work related, it’s arguably the most painful of all. It’s a letter from Ford saying you can’t have the new GT. Go sob your eyes out!

As you know, to be in with a chance of owning the supercar, you had to log on to the Ford website and submit a detailed application for it. Ford would then assess if you were worthy or not. With the sheer amount of interest in the twin-turbocharged motor, coupled with the fact that just 500 are being made, we’d imagine that quite a lot of people will be getting the following note stating they’re not worthy thus denying them of their dream. But surprisingly, it’s also rather upbeat and leaves those who weren’t successful with a sense of hope mentioning that more GT’s could eventually be produced. Well, since over 6,500 people applied for one, there sure is a demand for one of the most scarce, selective automobiles ever.

Here’s the letter in full:

“Thank you for your interest in purchasing a Ford GT!
We are thrilled that you share our passion for performance and the all-new Ford GT.

The demand for Ford GT from enthusiasts like you has surpassed our very limited production.

Unfortunately, we do not have enough Ford GTs to fulfill your request at this time.

We have confirmed our Ford GT production plans for only two years. However, if additional production is confirmed, your application information will remain in your profile for easy updating.

Meanwhile, we encourage you to stay connected to the latest announcements, news and information through our website: www.fordgt.com.

Thank you, again, for your passion for our all-new supercar.

Regards,

The Ford GT Team”

Now, that’s a metaphorical kick in the gut if ever we saw one and we’re sure it hurts a little more than being turned down by Starbucks…
