There will be loads of customized Mustangs on display at SEMA from tomorrow at the Las Vegas Convention Center but we don’t think that we will see a better one than this! This is the 2017 Hurst Kenne Bell R-Code Mustang and aside from looking absolutely awesome, it can back up the show with a whole lot of go. This Ford has 750 horsepower!
Just 50 units are to be built and they will each feature gold accents on the body along, a bespoke aerodynamic body kit and 20in alloys with chrome plating courtesy of Performance West. The Mustang also gets a large Daytona-style front splitter with its Heim joint-operated uprights (it is designed for the track, not speed bumps around town…), extended side skirts, a boot-mounted wing and a custom diffuser with quad exhaust tips. That isn’t all; the GT rides on a lowered suspension and sticky Nitto 265/35Z and 305/30Z tyres.
The 5.0-litre V8 (which is mated to a six-speed manual) has been poked and prodded and gets a 3.2-litre Kenne Bell twin-screw, liquid-cooled polished supercharger. This helps to improve power from what was an already healthy 435 horsepower to 750. But get this – that is only the output of the base upgrade pack; Kenne Bell has two additional steps and the most potent will produce a frankly ridiculous 1,500 horses!
The interior packs high-back racing Recaro front seats covered in pearl-white and black Katzkin Tuscany leather, matching stitching on the console lid and door panels.
