There are going to be two new variants of the Ram 1500 pickup for the 2017 model year - the Ram Rebel 1500 Mojave Sand edition and the Ram 1500 Ignition Orange - and we can’t decide which one we like more. And if you can’t decide either, well then you had better hurry and make a choice as just 1,500 units of each version are going to be produced.

Starting with the Rebel Mojave Sand, it gets a new exterior light tan paint job, a black decal on the performance bonnet, a full black interior with black seats (with gray accent stitching), black anodized bezels on the doors, the centre console and instrument panel. It also has rubber floor mats too (with the Ram logo) but there aren’t any mechanical upgrades but that isn’t a problem for the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 and 5.7-litre Hemi V8 are potent enough.

As for the Ignition Orange model for the 1500 Sport Crew Cab (it’ll only be available on the 5.7-litre V8), it gets a bright orange paint job, orange cross-hair grille, black decals on the bonnet just like the Mojave Sand, body side and tailgate badges and it rides on black 20in five-spoke alloys. As for the cabin, it packs “Copperhead” accent stitching throughout along with anodized orange trim pieces.

Both versions will be on display during the Los Angeles motor show at the LA Convention Center, California from Wednesday.
