We’ve all heard about the new Star Wars film and have most likely seen the trailer a million times too. We aren’t that bothered by the least by the upcoming flick but we do like the smart bit of thinking by Nissan’s marketing team.

With a mid-size crossover in their ranks already called the Rogue (we call it the X-Trail here), and the fact that the new movie has been titled Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, it doesn’t take a genius to see that a tie-up was on the cards and so, here is the Nissan Rogue: Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition. And, it comes complete with a replica Death Trooper helmet too.

Based on the redesigned 2017 model, it features all sorts of Star Wars touches such as “Rebel Alliance” and "Galactic Empire” logos on the D-pillars and in the cupholders, while “Star Wars” logos have been emblazoned on the rear bumper. It also gets illuminated kick plates, and “Rogue One” plaques on the front doors. That’s not all; it gets LED headlights, 17in black alloys and body trim while two colours will be made available - Magnetic Black and Glacier White. The Rogue One also packs dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, satellite radio, and rear cross traffic alert along with the optional panoramic moonroof and a Bose stereo system.

5,400 units of the 170 horsepower 2.5-litre, four-cylinder model will be built (all mated to a CVT) and they’ll all get a numbered replica Death Trooper helmet. This isn’t the first time Nissan has revealed a film-themed model; back in 2007 there was the Nissan Navara Die Hard edition and who can forget the Juke Nismo Dark Knight Rises edition? There have been many other cars celebrating movies, and arguably the most famous in recent times has to be the Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Edition.
