BMW hadn’t even wrapped up the global launch of the all-new generation 5 Series before revealing a host of performance goodies available for the latest G30 platform.

The 5 Series will only hit the public road officially from February next year, but M Performance has already made available accessories optional on all variants of the G30 5er. The parts cover suspension, aerodynamics, interior, and powertrain components, and customers can go for the whole lot or mix and match pieces as per individual taste.

If we take a 540i xDrive as a starting point, powered by the BMW’s 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six, the M Performance package adds a Power and Sound kit that upgrades output by 34bhp to a total of 360bhp and torque by 50Nm to 500Nm, not to mention increasing the sound of the exhausts with tailpipes finished in either carbon fibre or chrome.

The extra power is matched by uprated brakes, optimising heat resistance so you can repeatedly pound on the middle pedal and going with lightweight discs and exclusive red-coloured callipers. In addition, the M Performance pack includes 20in wheels available in optional two-tone finishes, measuring 245/35 R20 up front and 275/30 R20 at the rear.

On the cosmetic side designers throw in aggressive body components like the front bumper, a rear diffuser, and carbon fibre-finished rear spoiler. Optionally, customers can also add black side skirts, carbon fibre side mirrors, black BMW kidney grille, graphic stickers and accent stripes. Inside the car, the M Performance pack adds an Alcantara-wrapped wheel with a red 12 o’clock mark. And don’t worry if you’ve already ordered a G30 stocker, since you can retro-fit any of these M Performance parts later.
