Chevrolet Arabia has announced the launch of the all-new 2017 Aveo in the Middle East, with a host of styling updates and added technology features. The overall design follows the corporate styling language seen in recent larger models like the Malibu saloon. Apart from the revised fascia, the new Aveo also gets a new bonnet, new projector-beam headlights as standard, and a redesigned rear. While the Base and LS trims feature 15in steel rims with new designs, the top LT variant comes with alloy wheels.

The cabin also has received some sprucing up, with a redesigned gauge cluster with analog meters, while the infotainment system with a centrally placed 7.0in screen iincorporates the latest connectivity technologies, including Apple CarPlay, along with GM’s MyLink system. The Aveo, which is available in both saloon and hatchback form, offers above average passenger and cargo space, as it comes with 60:40 split-folding rear seats, decent 502-litre luggage space in the saloon and 653 litres in the hatchback.

Safety features include two air bags as standard across all trims, antilock brakes, as well as a tyre pressure monitoring system. Also standard is the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, and the   Rear Park Assist that’s available on the LS and LT variants.

Power comes from a 115bhp, 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic. But the best bit is that unusually for our market, there’s also a six-speed manual transmission available. Prices start at Dh43,000 for the Base saloon, going up to Dh45,000 for the mid-range LS saloon and Dh49,450 for the top-spec LT saloon. Meanwhile, the hatchback prices start at Dh45,800 and goes up to Dh50,250.
