The GLA has been around since 2013 and has had no major changes since then, albeit for an upgraded engine, but now Mercedes has revealed a teaser image of the facelifted crossover.

Set to make its debut at the Detroit motor show in a few days from now, the Merc doesn’t really appear to have changed all that much. But upon a closer examination, we note that the front bumper has been revised (the rear bumper will most likely be refreshed too) and it’s packing new fog lights along with a revamped grille. The head and taillights will most likely also be refreshed but that is all that we can make out from the dark image. We expect new alloy wheel designs and exterior paints for the exterior while it should feature s host of upgrades to the cabin such as a bigger 8.0in touchscreen display (with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink compatibility) along with some new trims and options to help spruce up Merc’s smallest premium crossover.

The newbie will probably retain its predecessor’s turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four (which makes 211 horses in the GLA 250) as it was just updated for the 2016 model year and the 375 horse handcrafted AMG GLA 45 2.0-litre, which can do the 0-100kph sprint in just 4.4 seconds.
