This hot new Aventador S Roadster is bound to steal the show at Frankfurt next week and not just because of its gorgeous exterior. Somehow, Lamborghini have managed to retain the power of the hardtop in spite of the additional 50kg the newbie has gained. So with 730 horsepower and 690Nm of torque, it’ll ruffle up your hair pretty good!

Set to go on sale early next year, it features removable hardtop panels that are finished in matte black carbon fibre and weigh less than 6kg (or you can spec an optional high-gloss black finish; either way you can store them in the front) along with a Y-shaped engine bridge. This extends from the rear window to the back of the supercar and is finished in matte black painted carbon fibre – but if you want to show off that naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, and you really should, then you can opt for a transparent bridge.

The monster of a motor is paired to the same seven-speed Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) transmission and has the same four-wheel drive and four-wheel-steering system. It has a top speed of 350kph and can do the 0-100kph sprint in 3.0 seconds flat and that’s just a tenth slower than the Coupe S. Could you really tell? We highly doubt it. The massive Pirelli P Zeros (wrapped around 20in wheels up front and 21in at the back) will have a hard time keeping the Lambo – which gains a revised suspension and ESC - glued to the road.

You can choose from 13 unique finishes including Giallo Evros yellow and Ad Personam Blu Aeigir (pictured) while the interior boasts leather, Alcantara and gloss carbon fibre all over the place.
