Al-Futtaim Motors, the official distributor of Toyota vehicles in the UAE, has launched the 2018 Land Cruiser Prado here this week. Changes to the exterior include tweaks to the bonnet, radiator grille, headlamps, front bumper and fenders. It comes with a choice of six-spoke 17-inch alloys, or high gloss painted 18-inch’ alloy wheels.
The changes are less subtle in the cabin, which gets a revised dashboard, with restyled instrument panel and centre console, along with a driver seat that is equipped with eight-way power adjustment and power lumbar support, and the front passenger offering 4-way power adjustment.
The new Prado is available with two engine options; a 2.7-litre four-cylinder that makes 164bhp, and a 4.0-litre V6 that’s good for 271bhp. Apart from the full-time four-wheel drive with Torsen limited slip differential, the Prado comes equipped with features like Drive Mode Select, Crawl Control System, Multi-Terrain Select, Multi-Terrain Monitor, Hill-start Assist Control, Downhill Assist Control and a Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, that add to the SUV’s already strong off-road capabilities.
The 2018 Prado is already on sale across Al-Futtaim Motors showrooms and is available in four grades. The three-door 2.7 GXR and the five-door 2.7 EXR start at Dh129,900, while the five-door 2.7 GXR and VXR retail for Dh144,900 and Dh159,900 respectively. The five-door Prado with a 4.0-litre engine is priced at Dh159,900 for the EXR, Dh179,900 for the GXR, and Dh194,900 for the VXR. Meanwhile, the range-topping Limited trim is priced at Dh204,900.
