Last month, supercar builder Rezvani debuted an SUV that looked like a tank called, er, Tank and it appeared fit enough to withstand a nuclear war, zombie apocalypse, Armageddon or all three at once. Basically, it was a beast of a vehicle and featured a massive 6.4-litre Hemi V8 and had a price tag of around Dh650,000. That’s a lot of money and it seemed that only the wealthy would be able to afford one and enjoy a post-apocalyptic life but now there’s hope for the slightly less well-off masses as the carmaker has revealed a smaller and more affordable V6 variant.
Displayed at the 2017 SEMA show, the Californian firm’s newbie costs around Dh100,000 less than the V8 and its new 3.6-litre makes 285 horses and 352Nm of torque (the Hemi has 500…) but the Tank still looks as hard as nails.
Some of the features included a thermal camera (ideal for those night operations that you’ll undertake in the hunt for those pesky zombies…) a bullet-proof body, military-grade run flat tyres, Kevlar body panels and a Kevlar fuel tank. It has a driver-selectable four-wheel-drive system, a highly capable suspension (there’s basically a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited under that wild body) while the cabin gets lots of leather and suede trim.
So, if you think the world is about to be annihilated and you think you'll survive and will need a suitable set of wheels, head over to Rezvani's website where both of these Tanks are available for pre-order.
