It’s been a week full of local launches and another SUV making its first Middle East appearance was the all-new QX50 — and wheels was invited to get up close and personal with it at an exclusive event hosted at the Dubai Design District.
The Infiniti, which features some world-first technologies along with stand-out design to go with a pretty fancy interior, pairs the signature ‘Powerful Elegance’ design philosophy with the company’s innovative VC-Turbo engine. This is the world’s first production-ready variable compression ratio engine. The four-cylinder 2.0-litre motor is one of the most advanced internal combustion engines ever created; it can change its compression ratio to offer power and efficiency thanks to an advanced multi-link system which continuously raises or lowers the pistons’ reach.
Markus Leithe, Managing Director Middle East at Infiniti Motor Company said: “The Middle East is a key focus region for Infiniti globally and the all-new QX50 is one of the most important vehicles we’ve unveiled here in the past year. Our discerning customers in this region will appreciate the unique and attractive features of this car, including its striking design, dynamic versatility and advanced technology. The all-new QX50 boasts advanced safety features and is the first vehicle in the world to be powered by an engine that can vary compression ratio on the fly, thanks to our groundbreaking VC-Turbo engine. We very much look forward to seeing this car on the region’s roads from September.”
The all-new QX50 will be available at Infiniti showrooms in the Middle East from September 2018.
