Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has added a new special edition Night package to its Ram 1500 lineup. Based on the Sport variant of the popular truck, the Night edition adds 20in gloss black aluminium wheels, black grille surround with black ‘Hex Perf’ pattern inserts and blacked out badging inside and out.

“Much like our incredibly successful Ram Rebel, the Ram 1500 Night fills the growing customer demand for factory-custom trucks,” says Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand, FCA – Global. “The new Ram Night package builds upon the Ram Sport – one of the best looking trucks on the road – and adds black-out details that custom truck enthusiasts revere,” he adds.

The 2017 Ram 1500 Night retains key styling cues from the Sport trim, including fascia, rear bumper with dual chrome exhaust tips, power-folding mirrors and door handles, all in the same colour as the body. The sport’s black-bezel bi-functional projector headlamps with LED marker lights and black-bezel taillamps are also carried over. Inside, high-back heated cloth bucket seats with 10-way power adjustment, power-adjustable pedals and automatic temperature control with dual-zone climate control all come as standard.

The Night package is available on Regular Cab, Quad Cab and Crew Cab 1500 Sport models, in both two- and four-wheel drive variants, as well as long and short bed lengths. Powertrain options include a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 and a 5.7-litre Hemi V8.

Options and upgrades available include lighted and lockable Ram Box cargo management system with adjustable tie-down cleats and dual-purpose bed extender, Sport performance bonnet and black running boards. Buyers can also choose from Mopar performance parts options such as cat-back exhaust and cold-air intake. The 1500’s link-coil suspension can be enhanced with the addition of an optional air suspension system with multiple driver-selectable ride heights and load levelling features.

Available in Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Brilliant Black, Flame Red and Granite Crystal Metallic, the 2017 Ram Night edition will hit production early next month, with pricing set to be announced closer to the sales launch.
