So, the big update for our long-terming, 640-horsepower super saloon is that there is no update this week. Merely one week into the loan Cadillac needed the car back for an event, which is a shame, because I was really looking forward to helping Arabic editor Fadi with testing the CTS-V. I’m generous like that.
The brief time I spent behind the wheel of the hot CTS was during a test drive we did months ago, and I remember thinking to myself, ‘What are the 600-plus horses actually doing in there?’. Don’t get me wrong; it’s very, very fast, but there seems to be a lack of urgency that you get from, say, a BMW M5, which has a nearly 80bhp deficit over the Caddy.
And since I’ve run an M5 — the undisputed benchmark in the class — for nearly three months, it, in my mind at least, makes me the right person to test out our long-term Cadillac CTS-V. The things I do for the team!
