The Ghibli has been around since 2013 and in top S Q4 trim it has 430 horses from its twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 which is plenty in anyone’s books — apart for Novitec’s.
The tuner has a ‘refinement program’ for the entry-level Maserati and courtesy of its in-house N-Tronic auxiliary control unit, the base model’s 350 horsepower is increased to 412 while the top S Q4 trim improves by 64 horses for a grand total of 494.
The all-wheel-drive S Q4 can hit 100kph from rest in 4.4 seconds.
Visual improvements include carbon-fibre aerodynamic add-ons while the 22in Novitec NM1 alloys have been wrapped in sticky Pirelli P Zero tyres while the height-adjustable suspension improves dynamic ability. The Ghibli’s cabin has always looked a little spartan but now it can be dressed up in exclusive bespoke finishes available on request.
With all of that firepower, the luxurious Italian saloon can finally take the fight to the Germans.
