Almost everyone will be tuning the brand new 8 Series — AC Schnitzer is having a go, it’ll make 600 horses once it’s done — and Manhart has stepped in to spruce up the BMW and their version may even have more power than the upcoming M8...
The “MH8 600” could be a worthwhile alternative if you just can’t wait for the new M8 to hit the scene next year; it starts off as a M850i but then the tuner gives the twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 a serious tweak to get it to make 621 horses. The regular M850i has 530 horsepower, and so that’s an almost 100 horse increase!
The M850i — currently the hottest member of the 8 Series family — can hit 100kph from rest in 3.6 seconds but Manhart’s will be quicker — although no performance specifications have been revealed as of yet.
Finished in black with the tuner’s familiar golden stripes over the bonnet and across the profile, it sits lower thanks to a set of H&R lowering springs and rides on a set of 21in alloy wheels.
The body has a rather restrained look (the only additions are front and rear spoilers which are made from carbon fibre of course) and it has a new exhaust system too with four large tips.
