Germany tuner DMC has given the 2020 Porsche 911 a sporty makeover but this is not just an aesthetic update – it has been blessed with more power too.
We are still waiting for the all-new 911 Turbo to arrive but this effort from the car customizer will certainly do for now. They have modified the 992 generation model with a new retro-inspired Emozione GT package while the tuner’s aftermarket parts can be finished in either carbon fibre or Kevlar.
The front of the sportscar features a new spoiler that’s tucked under the original front bumper and its wider form helps to improve downforce. Two integrated splitters decrease turbulence and enhance the car's stability as it roars down the road and it also get sporty side skirts. The fin is a nice touch – it helps makes the 911 look wider and lower.
Around the back, the Emozione GT diffuser looks pretty aggressive and there is a massive rear wing inspired by the track-focused 911 RSR back there too. It measures 47in and doesn’t only give the 911 a lot more presence it is functional too and adds extra additional downforce.
Best of all, DMC has tinkered with the 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six and has extracted a bit more power from it thanks to some tweaks to the ECU. The DMC Emozione GT makes an extra 60 horses to bring the total to a very healthy 503. In comparison the top of the range 2020 911 Carrera S makes 443 horses.
DMC’s variant will sound a lot deeper too what with a Muffler Package that can control the exhaust valves to optimize the sound and performance. Buyers can choose to have the valves fully open for a more aggressive exhaust note during an intense track session or closed for a more refrained, comfortable cruise.
All in all we think this a pretty good job but it’s made us look forward to the all-new 911 Turbo even more.
