When you buy a Mercedes-AMG model you can be sure that it will combine luxury and performance with ease. However, there are many tuners out there always willing to push the boat out... So, here is Carlex Design's G63 Yachting Limited Edition which features a customised exterior and a fully restyled interior featuring wood paneling and miles of premium hides.

Starting with the exterior, which you'll agree is not as wild as the interior, much of the body has been crafted from brushed metal panels. It rides on a set of 22in wheels while the bonnet and greenhouse are painted flat black. The spare tyre cover features a branded compass. But the most unique exterior styling feature is the brushed metal roof, which matches the alloys.

However, the real talking point is what the tuner has done to the cabin. Two interiors are previewed - one light and one dark, and we'll focus on the latter but both feature the same central nautical theme. Carlex wraps the steering wheel with top quality leather and adds wood covers, which match the wooden floor and link to the car's yachting inspiration.

Showboat... It really is over the top in here; from wood paneling evocative of a foredeck, to nautical details like a compass logo on the wooden roof. Photo: Carlex Design

Ribbed seatbacks and door panels continue the marine vibe, as do small circles on the seats and trim pieces that seem to mimic rivets.

The ceiling features striped slats with a large branded compass in the middle. The slats mimic the design of the wood paneling seen on the floor, the doors, the dashboard, the seatbacks, and most significantly, on the rear cargo area. The wood is complemented by supple leather, Alcantara, and real metal accents.
