Calling all Mad Max and Ford Falcon fans - here’s your chance to buy a piece of movie history as the iconic 1974 XB-model Ford Falcon, better known as the ‘Interceptor,’ is up for sale.
The car, featured in 1979’s Mad Max and 1981’s Mad Max 2, is being sold by the Orlando Auto Museum in Florida. Currently owned by real estate developer Michael Dezer, it holds a special place in Australia’s pop culture.
Dezer said he has already knocked back a $2 million offer for the most famous car ever featured in a local Austrailian film.
Based on a Falcon GT, the Ford was heavily customized for its starring role in the Mel Gibson flick. It returned for the movie’s sequel and then exchanged hands several times before being picked up by Dezer in 2011.
