These days, just owning a supercar is not enough. You have to customize it from top to bottom if you really want to stand out and that can be a daunting task what with so many options available such as exterior paint colours and all manner of materials for the cabin. But McLaren has made life a little easier by revealing its very own spruced up 570S Design Edition.
Just five units will be built (each of them will be themed around a different colour) and the Design Edition 1 gets a flashy Vermillion Red body along with diamond-cut, five-spoke alloys hiding red brake calipers. Best of all is the black ‘Stealth’ exhausts and as for the cabin, it features Carbon Black Alcantara and Apex Red Nappa leather upholstered seats while the top of the dash gets Jet Black leather trim. The lower portion has been finished off in Apex Red leather while a dual colour steering wheel (black and red with Slate Gray stitching) finishes it all off nicely.
As for the power of this particular 570S, it still packs a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox – either of which have not been touched meaning the Macca still makes 570 horses and 600Nm of torque, which, let’s face it, is more than enough. It does 0-100kph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 328kph.
The other four Design Editions will feature Onyx Black, Storm Gray, Ventura Orange, and Silica White exteriors. Order books for the five are open now, and buyers will receive them in 2017.
