Abu Dhabi Motors, the official dealer for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in the UAE’s capital, has unveiled a collection of ten bespoke cars specially commissioned as a tribute to some of the world’s greatest music composers. Named ‘The Opus Collection’, this one-off series of Rolls-Royce cars was launched accompanied by a symphony of classical and contemporary pieces played by the NSO Symphony Orchestra, in front a gathering of over 300 special guests.
Opus, which refers to a set of musical compositions, has been conceptualised by Abu Dhabi Motors in coordination with the craftsmen at Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke division in Goodwood, UK. The collection comprises three Phantom, four Ghost and three Wraith models, each of which is apparently inspired by iconic classical music composers.
In keeping with the theme of the series, the craftsmen have incorporated musical notes from actual compositions into the veneer marquetry and inlays, and also embroidered into the headrests, the rear centre armrest and across the headliner. The name of the respective composer who inspired each car has been inscribed into the illuminated tread plates. To ensure accuracy, an onsite musical expert guided the craftsmen throughout the execution process which took nearly two years.
“The Opus collection is a tribute by Abu Dhabi Motors to a selection of legendary composers whose work helped define the world’s musical heritage. We have leveraged the best of the incredible Bespoke capabilities at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars to draw inspiration from the work of those legendary music composers, resulting in some of the most beautiful and prestigious automobiles ever seen,” says Arno Husselmann, general manager, Abu Dhabi Motors.
Commissioning bespoke collections isn’t anything new for Abu Dhabi Motors, which has over the years, brought many such exclusive series to the UAE, the most notable being the Suhail, Nautical and Ghawwas Bespoke collections.
