Aston Martin has revealed the Vanquish S Red Arrows edition hot on the heels of the news that the British brand will be transforming a former Royal Air Force base in south Wales into a manufacturing facility where it’ll build the DBX SUV.

Just 10 examples of the Red Arrows edition will be made by the Q division and each will take inspiration from the RAF’s Red Arrows aerobatics team. So, apart from the bright red paint (Eclat Red), they also have white and blue carbon livery. The side skirts get a white smoke trail effect which the Hawk trainer aircraft leave in the sky and the carbon fibre roof panel has been inlaid with a pattern that copies the canopy design of the planes. The Astons also get Union Jack badges and a titanium exhaust while the cabin sees the addition of One-77 derived steering wheel, an aviation inspired rotary toggle, Pinewood green trim and Martin Baker ejection seat fabric with green webbing seatbelts. Each Vanquish S gets an engine plaque numbered 1 through 10 signed by the corresponding Red Arrows pilot. If that wasn’t cool enough, each buyer will get a bespoke racing helmet to go with a racing suit, bomber jacket, car cover and build book. What more do you want? A Vanquish S luggage set? Aston throws that in too.

No mechanical changes have been made and that means the Vanquish S Red Arrows edition makes a very healthy 592bhp and 630Nm of torque from its 6.0-litre V12 engine (mated to an eight-speed auto), can hit 100kph from rest in just 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 323kph.
