Called the Atlas elsewhere, Volkswagen is doing the smart thing and premiering the Teramont SUV at the Dubai show to go after volume-selling rivals such as the Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder, and Chevrolet Trailblazer that sell in their droves. The Teramont should prove competitive with a base-spec 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine and a top spec 3.6-litre six-pot driving all four wheels ad developing 276bhp. And seeing as the Teramont comes on VW’s MQB modular platform it should drive more like a car than just a lumbering seven-seater. You’ll have the full verdict in wheels soon.
