Tesla's CEO Elon Musk revealed the new Model Y in California - and at first glance we must say that it looks a lot like the Model 3!

The compact SUV, due out in 2020 is bigger than the former and with three rows of seats it can accommodate seven passengers. It'll feature a panoramic roof as standard while the interior will get a 15in infotainment system and 1,868 litres of cargo space.

The Long Range variant can do 482km on a single charge and cost around Dh173,000 while the Standard Range will do 370km and cost around Dh143,000. There will also be a performance version which will be able to complete the 0-100kph dash in around 3.5 seconds and an all-wheel drive variant too.

Musk expects the new Model Y - which will eventually get full-self driving capabilities - will receive a five-star crash rating and says it'll be the safest mid-size SUV on the market.
