We caught it testing in the snow back in February and now Bentley has given us a first glimpse of the all-new Flying Spur with the luxury saloon to be officially revealed later this year. The folk from Crewe haven’t mentioned an exact date but we reckon the uber fancy Bentley could be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September - but with so many carmakers ditching motor shows, the newbie could be revealed online before then. With the brand celebrating its 100th anniversary this year with a special event planned in July to mark the occasion, we could see the 2020 model then…

Anyway, as well two teaser images of the upcoming 2020 model, we also get to see the Bentley’s retractable Flying B bonnet ornament in action in a short video and it appears the badge is illuminated; this particular model variant could be the plug-in hybrid which may get the same electrified setup as the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid (it will ride on the same MSB platform as the Porsche…) and aside from the winged badge we get a glimpse of the upper section of the front grille along with the central metallic fin on the bonnet.

One of the two images shows a shadowy silhouette of the stately saloon - introduced in 2005 as the four-door version of the Continental GT - and its character lines are rather prominent but the general shape of the Flying Spur is pretty similar to the current model; the long bonnet and massive rear overhang will seemingly still be present for the new car while we expect the drivetrain options to include the twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 - which also does the bizz in the Continental GT, Bentayga and also the Audi A8 - making at least 600 horses or 626 if it’s tuned like for like as the Bentayga Speed and Continental GT, while a smaller 4.0-litre V8 will also be available. A Speed derivative of the W12-powered model is on the cards too.
