We’re feeling pretty special here in the Middle East thanks to Chevrolet as it brings the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 to the region — and introduces two exclusive trims for us in the process!
I think we all agree that the best looking trucks are the two door variants and Chevy is offering us both the Trail Boss and RST Silverados in several body styles including Regular-Cab — but, spare a thought for those in the US as the RST and Trail Boss are only available for the Crew Cab and Double Cab body versions...
A century after Chevy created the first-ever truck, the gold bow-tie is celebrating its legacy with the new line-up. The 2019 Silverado is up to 204kg lighter than its predecessor and the line-up features exceptional refinement without compromising on the models hallmark off-road capability and versatility.
Ahmed Soudodi, Head of Brand at Chevrolet Middle East and Africa commented: “The Chevrolet Silverado is a regional icon and the 2019 line-up brings further improvements to what is one of the most consummate full-size pickup trucks on the market today. Our year-on-year success is in no small part due to our loyal and growing regional customer base which we keep at the heart of our business, and so being able to offer to them through the Silverado Trail Boss and RST trims exclusively available for the Middle East makes us very excited.”
Offered with five engine and transmission choices across the range, including new 5.3-litre and 6.2-litre V8s with industry-first Dynamic Fuel Management that actively shuts off any number of cylinders between Two and Eight, the 2019 Silverado offers unprecedented fuel economy in its class. The 6.2-litre is paired with a new Hydra-Matic 10-speed automatic, as well as start/stop technology to reduce fuel consumption. Additionally, a modern 2.7-litre turbocharged inline-four will also be available in the region.
Regardless of which trim customers choose, what comes standard is the 2019 Silverado’s best-in-class cargo volume, irrespective of the bed length. In fact, the bed floor is nearly 178mm wider even in short-box models and offers 1,784 litres of cargo volume.
It gets a host of connectivity and convenience features including the Chevrolet Infotainment 3.0 as standard on all trims.
Prices start from Dh106,800 with the exclusive Regular Cab Trail Boss and RST variants going on sale in the summer.
