Remember the Elemental RP1 which turned into the Apex AP1 which had a 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder making 400 horses and which could hit 100kph from rest in 2.5 seconds? Well, there’s a follow up to that crazy thing called the AP-0.

As the name suggests, the battery-electric concept will take the top spot in the lineup. Weighing just 1,200kg, its single electric motor makes 650 horses and it has a 515km range. And, it can do 0-100kph in 2.3 seconds. The battery can be recharged up to 80 per cent in 15 minutes.

Its body and chassis is made entirely out of carbon fibre, and it has a central carbon tub and modular spaceframe. It even has some racing DBA; the Le Mans-like fin houses a retractable LIDAR system up front but the massive cross-shaped taillights really stand out the most.

This road-legal racecar also has an adjustable pushrod suspension with automatic ride-height adjustment and rides on 19in centre-lock wheels up front paired with 20-inchers in the back.

It also boasts butterfly doors while the single-seat interior is packed with carbon, aluminium, and leather. Behind the square steering wheel are three display screens for the driver. It even has a software-based ‘instructor’ to help drivers make the most of track days.

And, when you are not thrashing it around a track it even has Level 3 autonomous capability with Level 4 already built in to make life super easy around town.

Production is expected to begin in the latter half of 2022 and Apex aims to make 500 units a year.
