One of the UAE’s favourite models is getting an upgrade for the 2017 model year. Land Rover has announced a host of changes for the Range Rover family and it should be enough to keep the iconic SUV at the top of its game.

But the big news is that Land Rover has added a new variant of the range-topping SV Autobiography. Called the Dynamic and featuring an 8mm drop in ride height, this one will be powered by the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 (sourced from the Range Rover Sport SVR and mated to a ZF eight-speed auto) making 550 horsepower and 680Nm of torque and which will propel the model to 100kph from rest in just 5.1 seconds. It will have a top speed of 225kph and the tweaked chassis should help make this one a touch more driver focused. It will also packs the Dynamic Response and Adaptive Dynamics technologies and will be easy to tell apart from the rest of the clan thanks to its Graphite Atlas accents on the grille, bonnet, front bumper, side vents, and tailgate. That’s not all; buyers will be able to select Brembo brakes for the first time on a Range Rover and there will be a choice of 21- and 22in wheels. The interior will feature diamond-quilted leather seats (and you will be able to select from four choices of contrast stitching no less!) while Grand Black veneer will adorn the dash and door cards. There’ll be a smattering of red trim to liven things up and the pedals, start/stop button will have a knurled finish.

The other upgrades for the range include a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 – yep, the same motor that does the business in the Jaguar F-Type. It’ll make 335 horses and 450Nm of torque and will launch the massive SUV from 0-100kph in 7.1 seconds and there’ll be a host of new kit too such as the addition of Driver Condition Monitor and advanced Blind Sport Assist. That’s not all; Jaguar Land Rover’s InControl Touch Pro infotainment system which incorporates a 10in dual-view touchscreen (it includes the InControl Remote Premium system), will now also be available in the 2017 Rangey. It also has a fully integrated sat-nav system (which can work with an owner's smartphone).

19 new colours will be added to the options list too but we doubt you’ll have it any other way than white.
