We always look forward to the Sema Show because there are always some real eye openers on display at the monster event of the auto aftermarket industry.
At the Las Vegas Convention Center will be several muscle cars (old, new and tricked out!) to drool over along with educational seminars and product demonstrations which have made Sema such a hit with enthusiasts.
It’d be easy to lose yourself in the 12 huge sections so we’ve picked out the must see exhibits if you’re heading out to LA.
First of all, Chevrolet will be showcasing a brand new colour for the Camaro. It’s called Shock Yellow and er, it needs no further explanation really (look at the photo!) but there’s plenty to say about the 2019 model.
It’s been refreshed and LS, LT and SS models get a new front-end which includes a revised bonnet, grille, and dual-element headlights with new LED signature lighting, new wheel designs and new LED taillights.
Some of the new tech available now includes Forward Collision Alert. Chevy isn’t only looking to the future — it’s revisiting the past too by showcasing its crate engines in vintage concepts, the pick of the bunch being a stunning 1973 Chevelle Laguna. It features black 18in wheels, a boot lid spoiler and a massive LT5 under the bonnet. The supercharged 6.2-litre V8 makes 755 horses!
The Ringbrothers will have a modified 1972 K5 on display and from the single teaser image (below), it looks as if the Blazer has a lift kit, beefier roll bars and rugged knobby tyres. We reckon it’ll also have updated differentials and an improved transfer case to give it serious off-road ability.
The 840 horsepower Challenger SRT Demon is potent enough but Speedkore gave it a mighty big shot in the arm regardless. With two 6875 Precision Billet ball-bearing T4 turbochargers replacing the stock supercharger, the tuner’s version makes 1,200 horses! Ford will have five custom Mustangs by CGS Motorsports, CJ Pony Parts, Galpin Auto Sports, and Bojix Design who all tweak the GT while the TJIN Edition will give us a new take on the Ecoboost model.
All that and lots more — let the show begin!
