Well, they sure weren’t kidding! The organisers of the 2018 Gulf Car Festival had promised to deliver three action packed days of motoring mayhem — and that is exactly what we got!

The fourth event, held once again at Dubai Festival City, was another rousing success. Launched in 2014, the latest edition had it all from some truly eye-catching customised cars on display for enthusiasts to drool over to the region’s best drivers performing some incredible, eye-widening stunts.

It all began last Thursday (15th November) and on this first day the theme was American muscle and so the Camaro, Mustang, Challenger and Charger clubs were out in force displaying their modified beasts for all to see. The following day was reserved for supercars, exotics, European and American classics and again, the outdoor venue was awash with Lamborghinis, Ferraris, some classic Porsches and a bunch of cool Pontiacs. The final day saw hundreds of JDM, tuners and trucks get their 15 minutes of fame while even Filipino magician Normando Macalinao was on hand wowing petrolheads with his bag of tricks — but the highlight was at the Action Arena where professional stunt drifters went through dozens of sets of tyres and created huge clouds of smoke during their epic performances. The truck pull stunt also got the highly entertained crowd going and all in all the festival presented an unforgettable sensory experience for car fanatics that they won’t forget in a hurry.
