Remember how extreme-looking the Sián, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, was? Well, Lamborghini has revealed another model which makes that look like a cute teddy. Meet the Lambo V12 – the Italian carmaker’s Vision GT car. And now pick your jaw up off the floor…
Unveiled at the Gran Turismo Championship World Finals in Monaco, it looks like something and Batman would happily take to an open track day. This uncompromising, forward-looking single-seater track car will be appearing in virtual, driveable form in Gran Turismo Sport for PlayStation 4 next year.
Based on the same hybridised V12 as the Sián, the V12 features an extremely angular and aggressive body with Y-shaped headlights, an enormous split rear wing. Power comes from a 6.5-litre V12 which makes 807 horsepower – 34 of those are courtesy of a supercapacitor. And according to Sant’Agata Bolognese the whole mean looking thing weighs just 819kg!
But if you thought the exterior was wild (it is), the single-seat interior will blow you away; you enter the car from the front - like you would with a fighter plane - and it’s been designed to look even more futuristic than the body and features a holographic display. Lamborghini hopes will be possible for its production cars in the next decade.
It’s a shame that this thing won’t make it to the road (it’s just designed for the game) but we’re sure Lambo has something pretty epic (and real) up its sleeve.
