It’s only been just over a week since Jaguar showed its first-ever electric vehicle, the I-Pace concept, at the Los Angeles motor show. However, our spy photographer in Spain has already spotted a chassis-testing mule doing the developmental rounds.

The test car sports an F-Pace body, but there are some obvious tweaks made to it. It looks lower and wider, with a slightly longer wheelbase than the production SUV. And there are some heavy modifications done to the front, rear and around the wheelarches. The biggest change that gives this away as the I-Pace is the lack of any air inlets up front. Even the front grille is all taped up.

As you might already have read in our main news story (page 10-11), the electric Jag will put out a whopping 700Nm of torque and 400 horsepower from its twin electric motors, and will do the 0-100kph sprint in around four seconds.
