The next-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class has been in the works for some time now. The Stuttgart carmaker gave us a glimpse of how the new model could pan out with the A Sedan concept shown at this year’s Shanghai auto show. While many prototypes of the upcoming A-Class have been spotted previously, this week we have photos of the next-gen A45 showing off its large air intakes, wider fenders, beefy brakes, and for the first time with quad exhausts tips.
Although heavily camouflaged the abovementioned features give it away as a hot version of the hatch, along with the upright Panamericana grille up front. Along with the visual upgrades, the next-gen A45 is expected to deliver more power and performance from its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which will be mated to a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The A-Class will also spawn the next-generation versions of the CLA45 compact saloon and the GLA45 small crossover. There are rumours about a warm hatch in the range as well, likely to be badged A43, but there hasn’t been any official confirmation yet.
