We first caught sight of the 2020 XT6 back in April but it was properly hidden away then; the prototype featured heavy padding all over the body and even the tailgate window was covered up — but now the latest batch of spy shots are here and they are far more revealing.
The Cadillac, now dressed in a skin tight camo wrap (and clean rear window) features pretty big third side windows (third-row passengers will get a great view) while the rear doors are pretty large too; ingress and egress won’t be an issue at all — or access to that third-row.
It has a rather dynamic look — and check out that roofline; it descends neatly towards the rear and the chunky roof spoiler — which houses the wiper — is a nice touch. The headlights look like they’ll be more horizontal than those on the CT6 and XT4 while the vertical taillights appear to extend horizontally to both sides at the top. Overall the XT6 looks massive — but although it is bigger than the XT5, it won’t be as long as the Traverse. It shares the long-wheelbase architecture of the Chevy and will likely get a twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre V6 mated to an eight-speed auto driving all four wheels. The XT6, which will give the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 a run for their money, could debut at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show in January.
