Our snapper had already sent us some pics of a prototype RC F GT but we weren’t that bothered until he flooded our inbox again with new shots of the Lexus — with it thrashing the Nurburgring in anger this time. As you can see, it got our interest.
A concept was developed back in 2015 to tackle the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and it featured the production model’s naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 but it now appears that a production version of the track-ready coupe is on the way.
This one has various body add-ons inspired by the motorsport-themed concept; it’s packing a more aggressive nose (reshaped headlights), a carbon-fibre bonnet, a fixed rear wing and revised rear bumper.
It’ll likely get a lowered and firmer suspension than the standard model along with model-specific alloys and a bigger (louder) exhaust. As of now it isn’t clear if the GT will improve on the RC F’s 468 horses and 527Nm of torque but we reckon it will — not least because the same motor in the flagship LC500 has 10Nm more than it so there’s room for improvement.
