These images of the 2021 C-Class will likely give Mercedes-Benz fans a warm, fuzzy feeling — but spare a thought for our snapper who braved the elements in freezing cold Germany to send us the pics...

Anyway, this early prototype spotted playing in the snow has been covered up (no, not to keep it warm...) to hide any details and Merc has done a good job at that; the camo wrap ensures that the grille, fascia, and rear end is properly hidden away from prying eyes — and if you were worried about those funny looking taillights, relax — they are clearly just prototype-spec placeholders. Aha, but we can deduce in spite of their best intentions, that the new-gen C-Class will er, look rather similar to the current model. Nope, Merc is not planning on rocking the boat with this new iteration but that does not mean that there will not be any big changes; in fact we reckon that the next C-Class which will be all-new from the ground up will be riding on a modified version of the company’s MRA2 rear-wheel-drive platform which the bigger E-Class is built on. Hmm, so does that mean that the C-Class will grow bigger too? Time will tell, but we would not be too surprised seeing as its main competitor, the new BMW 3 Series, has also grown larger.

You can fully expect the newbie to be crammed with a lot more technology such as a full-on digital dash with the latest MBUX infotainment system and more driver assist systems.

It’ll be motivated by a variety of four- and six-cylinder engines and hybrid powertrains but we’re already looking forward to when AMG will inevitably get involved and give us a crazy powerhouse!
