There are more compact crossovers out there than you can shake a stick at; you’ve got the Duster, Soul, Kicks and Ecosport to name but a few – and now joining the party, fashionably late, is the HR-V from Honda. It’s returned to the region following an almost two decade hiatus because Honda knows consumer buying trends have changed; the saloon is being ditched in favour of these little high riders and so wisely it has brought the HR-V back to join the bigger CR-V and Pilot in the line-up.

Packing a peppy 1.8-litre four-pot mated to a CVT making 140bhp and 172Nm of torque, it features all sorts of goodies including a large panoramic roof and those Magic Seats which fold almost every way possible creating oceans of room back there.

It’s practical, it’s fun and it’s yours in top EX spec for Dh86,900. Check out our video and look out for our full review soon!
